What's New in This Issue:
Hello everyone,
Happy New Year and welcome to the Acupuncture Mini-newsletter.
We all come into the New Year with some kinds of resolution for health. Here are some thoughts that might help you stay well.
We all know that Vitamin D is very important for our bone
health, and it comes mainly from sunlight and supplement. Deficiency of
Vitamin D can cause rickets in children, and bone fracture and
osteoporosis, even mortality in elderly.
But, how much is the right amount we need? And why low vitamin D is
associated with cancer? Let's take a look:

Are you affected by the winter blue? How about the cloudy and
overcast days? With shorter days and less sunshine, especially in Ohio,
many people feel sluggish and depressed during winter time, including
symptoms like sadness, anxiety, mood swing, fatigue, and craving of
carbohydrates. This is called seasonal affective disorder (SAD). These
symptoms will go away as the weather gets warmer and days get longer in
spring and summer time. If the symptoms stay year round, it is called
depression.
Fortunately, there is a natural ancient healing technique - acupuncture
and Chinese herb - that can help with depression and SAD. If you are
one of the 19 million people in American who suffers from depression,
please try the following: expose to sunlight on sunny days, or
using light box for 20-40 minutes a day. Get proper exercises (walking,
swimming) 40 minutes a day to boost your mood.
If these are not enough, please call our acupuncture clinic so you
start to feel better. For more info about how acupuncture works for
depression, please click the following link:
